Mascara That Survives Pakistani Heat: How to Choose Volume, Length and Curl
Mascara is the one product almost everyone owns, and the one that most often lets you down in Pakistani weather. Heat, humidity, sweat at a function and teary eyes in the dust all turn a good morning coat into dark smudges under the eyes by the evening. The fix is choosing the right formula and wand for your lashes, and applying it the right way. This guide explains volume, length and curl mascaras, when waterproof is worth it, how to apply mascara without clumps, and the mascaras we stock, all with Cash on Delivery across Pakistan.
This guide is part of our Complete Guide to Buying Makeup in Pakistan.
Volume mascara makes each lash look thicker. Choose it if your lashes are long enough but thin or sparse. Volume wands are usually big and full of bristles, and some formulas include tiny fibers that wrap around the lash.
Length mascara makes lashes look longer. Choose it if your lashes are short. Lengthening wands tend to have shorter, finer bristles that coat each lash from root to tip.
Curl mascara holds lashes up. Choose it if your lashes are straight or point downwards. A curved wand and a lightweight formula help the curl stay.
Separating or defining mascara combs lashes apart for a clean, fanned look rather than a thick one. Choose it if you hate clumps or want a natural everyday look.
Waterproof mascara resists sweat, humidity, rain and tears, so it is the better choice for summer, weddings, outdoor events and anyone with oily skin around the eyes. It is also better at holding a curl, because water and oil relax curled lashes.
The trade-off is removal. Waterproof mascara needs an oil-based remover or micellar water made for waterproof makeup. Rubbing it off with soap and water pulls on the lashes. If you wear mascara every day, a regular formula for normal days and a waterproof one for events and summer is a good balance.
Pair any of these with our stainless steel eyelash curler, Rs. 449, for the biggest difference on straight lashes.
Mascara is for everyday. For weddings, photoshoots and big events, you can add false lashes on top for extra drama. If you want to try them, our guides to false eyelashes for beginners and cluster vs strip lashes explain how to choose. Curl your natural lashes, apply the false lashes, then finish with a light coat of mascara so false and natural lashes blend together.

A waterproof mascara, especially in summer and for functions. It resists sweat and humidity and holds a curl better than a regular formula.
Hold a cotton pad soaked in an oil-based makeup remover or coconut oil on closed eyes for about 20 seconds, then wipe gently downward. Repeat rather than rubbing hard.
Usually because there is too much product on the wand, the tube is old and drying out, or the second coat went on after the first dried. Wipe the wand, layer quickly, and replace mascara every three months.
Be careful. Loose fibers can fall into the eye. If you wear lenses, a regular or waterproof formula without fibers is the safer choice.
At The Nexa Shop mascaras cost Rs. 249 to Rs. 899, and the Siheglan waterproof duo is Rs. 259 for two, with Cash on Delivery across Pakistan.
